ATSIC S02E40 - ECHOES
I spent last week fighting Ableton and my plugins back into working order, & I'm back with episode 40 and a reinstalled version of windows. Also a slight headache. Was up all night til Monday AM making this.. mostly because I get easily distracted when I’m playing with new technology (live streaming.. not new, but new to me).
Been thinking about the legacy we leave behind, and how digital media means much of what we say & do publicly "will echo through the annals of time." KRS One talks about this. About saying things now that we can stand by in the future. I recently listened to an old album of mine, and was happy to say I could still stand beside the things I was saying on it and not be too embarrassed. Shouts to my past self, and to the Teacha for putting that thought in my head then (or shortly after that album actually, I think I read the Gospel of Hip Hop the year it was released around 2010, I’d guess).
Anyways, I started a Twitch channel so I can leave my own lasting mark of poorly played FPS games firmly embedded into the sands of history. I’m working on figuring out how to stream the creation process for #ATSIC and my own music as well, so go give me a follow over there if you want to support. HERES A LINK.
This mix had 13 Canadian tracks and 6 from USA. Mostly new release, a few from upcoming projects like Finn and Lord Juco's new one due Aug 6, and Timbuktu's upcoming "It's Alright in the Sunlight". New tracks from Tachichi's "Gremmy Sip" album, the only song from Switch & The Heretic's new EP that hasn't been on ATSIC, new Tobi with Mick Jenkins, plus another new one from Mick, also 2nd Gen Wu, Bazooka Joe 204, Brainiac & OZ, Tarik Robinson of DFE, Spesh K, an older (2019) gem from Rhymefest and Black Thought, more from bRavenous, Roshin & Essex Boys with Tona, another single from the west coast's Nate Husser's new album "Adult Supervision", the lead single for The Good People's "The Greater Good" album, and one from Beanz and Benny the Butcher.
