ATSIC S02E46 - TRC Day

Truth and Reconciliation Day episode featuring some of my favourite songs by First Nations artists from the past few years. Hip Hop can is my favourite genre because of it’s ability to pass stories and offer perspective. The province I’m in, so called Alberta, officially chose not to honor the federally declared TRC holiday, but on this show the First Nations people get full respect and year round support. I did another episode like this earlier in season 2 as well, but I tried to switch up what I’m playing since there’s a ton to choose from.

Music from Que Rock, Drezus, David Strickland, Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Stun, Brandon Peters, the Tru Apostles, K the Chosen with TRIBEtheArtist and Chantal Stormsong Chagnon (brand new), Jack Fire, Rhythm Child, Dark Blaze, Illiano & Shroom, Shibastik, Locke, and more.

Support the artists you hear here and enjoy, they all have music and merch to buy. Buy an orange shirt or three from a First Nations business. Support people around you and share love.

Have that tough talk about the genocidal history of this country. Learn. Spread awareness.
