ATSIC S06E13 - Coast

This week we’ve got music from the East and West coasts, and everywhere between. I’m just coasting along putting together these mixes, nothing but love to the DJs who do the turntablist thing, I’m just concentrating on bringing the best music I can find to a wider audience each week.
This one has new tracks from a bunch of new albums: Kryple’s new single “Understood” is the first off of his upcoming “Johnny Rich” album; “Grey Cup” from the freshly released “2 Way Mirror” album by Sayzee & KNG Bondalero; another cut from Rook Director and Quake Matthews EP “Weekend on Wooster”; “Out Here” from Merkules new drop “Survivor's Guilt” featuring Classified on the beats and a feature verse; plus a bunch of freshly published new singles from across the map. At this point I’ve had the chance to interview a majority of the artist we play on the show, it’s been a hell of a ride!
If I get time to, I’ll type more about the individual songs, but suffice it to say that it’s got you covered from coast to coast with that new new. Check the playlist at the bottom if you want to know what’s included!

I didn’t have to do much work this time, no turntables since Dice handled the mix duty this week, so it’s just me listening to the mix and yelling between tracks as I enjoy the music. We spoke about his last album “Vigilante”, his views on “woke culture”, his history going all the way back to Electric Circus on Much Music, writing letters to Hip Hop, and a bunch of other important stuff. I buy every track I play on ATSIC unless it’s sent to me directly. Streaming barely pays, so it’s essential to support indie artists by buying their music, tickets, or merch to keep them creating. Listening to #ATSIC on Mixcloud is free for you, and makes sure that each song you hear pays the artist at least SOMETHING. Spotify pays 0.006 CAD per stream, and only if the song hits 1000 plays in 3 months. Assuming a song gets 1000 spins, that means it takes around 125 Spotify plays to earn an artist the same .76 cents they earn from my 1.29 cent purchase on iTunes.
Shows like After the Smoke is Clear also need support.
