Fly In Formation - Self the Bluest Eye
Fly in Formation is back for more weekly interviews with artists across the map. I eased back to it with an interview of an artist who I actually know in person, Self the Bluest Eye from The Liberators. We’ve even actually worked on music together, but it was so long ago that I completely forgot about shooting a music video until Self mentioned it. We talk about his newest project, “Guardians of Boombap: Episode 1”, which he just dropped in collaboration with his Edmontonian producer homie Dee, as well as Gilly the MC & Restless M.I.N.D., a couple Europeans who linked up for another lap around the boombap classic sound track. It’s a great album and you should go support them if you fuck with this type of sound. We also touched on his evolution, his last album with The Liberators “Inherent Circle”, his move to Calgary, sobriety, and a bunch more.
I haven’t posted a full weekly schedule, and I don’t know if I will. So far I’m just operating week to week lining up guests, so make sure you go over to Twitch and hit follow and click the bell to get alerts when I go live!
