ATSIC S04E09: Scope
This week it was a playlist of shooter music. I try not to go from an emcee talking positivity to an emcee talking about gang life back to back in the same mix, so this one is full of grimy stuff that didn’t play well with the other songs I choose every week.
Some are a bit older, stuff I bought but didn’t get around to playing, like “Young Mowgli” from Saipher Soze & Sibbs Roc off of their Velvet Hammer album (Nov 22 release), or “Baltic Torpedo” off of Daniel Son & Kostia’s album “Le vent se leve” (Dec 22 release). There’s one from Desean Jackson too that I liked from last years last quarter, “Dope”; and one from Navi the North and Twist as well, “Warrior”, both of which dropped late in 22.
Aside from those, it’s all new from 23: Big, big new feature from JRoberts this week, who managed to pull down a verse from Benny the Butcher and delivered with a slapper of a single, “Praying with Dirty Hands”. That wasn’t the only JRoberts track on here though, with one called “Northern Connection” giving Daniel Son a second (or maybe 3rd) appearance. Dan’s been busy lately.. he might be on here 4 times even.
Got a single called “Shredder” from East coast producer Uncle Fester & John Creasy harkening back to the days of TMNT; a new release on some horrorcore shit from Switch called “Triple Murder”; and Edmonton’s Skreem Machine with a new one called Grizzy. Checking in with the hometown here in Lethbridge, Alchemy the Linguist and Donny Sage dropped a track with Big Tones and K.Stone featured on it called “Sully”. Nice to see those guys expanding and building with some more out of town/province artists.
Try not to rob anyone as you play this one. It’s all love over here, I just like music like this when it’s time to work out or play some FPS games. It’s the lyricism that shines on these tracks, and that’s what #ATSIC is about. Hope you enjoy.

Stay Up.
